How to Fix Widevine L1 on Xiaomi Devices

How to Fix Widevine L1 on Redmi K20/ Mi9T in China ROMS

Hello dear friends, How are you?? I hope everyone is fine. I am back today with another good guide to fix Widevine L1 on Xiaomi devices in various chinese ROMS. This will work in almost all MIUI ROMS which do not have the L1. OK, Lets get started to it.

Brief Introduction: If you device's security level is L1 only then you will be able to stream at highest possible quality on NetFlix and Amazon Prime Videos. You can check your secirty level by downloading DRM Info app from here. The fix is working for MIUI 11 and MIUI 12 based China ROMS such as MiROOM.

Requirements: Rooted device, Root Browser, L1 Fix

Steps to fix L1 are listed below:

1. Download Root Browser and L1 fix for your device.
2. Extract the L1 fix to a new folder.
3. Open the Root Browser app and grant ROOT permission.
4. Copy the extracted fix files to /vendor/lib and /vendor/lib64.
5. Open /vendor/lib folder and find the file you just copied.
6. Select it by long pressing it.
7. Tap on 3 dot menu.
8. Open Properties.
9. Head over to Permissions tab and set the permission as 644 -rw-r--r-- (For reference see the screenshot attached below) and then tap on APPLY.
10. Now do it same with the file added in /vendor/lib64/ folder.
11. Set the same 644 -rw-r--r--  permission, apply it.
12. Reboot your device.
13. Now, open DRM info app to check L1 status.
14. Voila! It is fixed.
